As you are well aware by now I am sure I spend and have spend over the last couple of years a lot of time at the gym and out side training for various things and getting fit and such. I am under no illusions that I could be an Olympic athlete, but I know from being in a few races that I am no slouch, especially considering the point at which I began all this fitness stuff.
But Holy Crap!
Some amazing things I have seen on the TV in the last 13 days:
Some woman weight lifter that weighs about what I weigh lifting THREE TIMES her body weight!
Cyclists at the track going nearly 70Km/h in their sprints!
Guys running a 5k in like 13:15! That is about as fast as I ride my bike! Unreal!
The amazingness of Usaine Bolt!
I was talking with Jodi the other day at the gym and both of us were so animated describing all of this. How incredible the training must be to be able to preform at that level and how cool it would be to be able to dedicate years and years of your life to that one event, maybe even lasting less than 10 seconds. Astounding!
I agree! I start watching and then get so sucked in that I have a hard time pulling myself away. It makes me long for something to be really, really good at.
