Friend Making Monday: A Little More Personal

If you’ve taken part in FMM then you know the rules. If you’re new, please take a moment to answer this week’s question on your own blog then add your link in the comments section here  and over at: so we can all see your FMM questions and answers. Please invite your blog readers to add their links here too so everyone has to opportunity to be seen. The idea is to connect with other awesome bloggers so take a moment to post your own FMM post and comment on a couple of other posts. Now it’s time for this week’s topic!

A Little More Personal

1. Are you a morning person?

Yeah I would say that I am. I sort of have to be for work arriving at the daycare at 7. And then I usually feel I do my best runs and bike rides in the morning.

2. Are you an introvert or an extrovert?

I can be both I think. Meeting me at first or in a group of people I don’t know I’m definitely an introvert, but with people that I am comfortable with I’m an extrovert for sure.

3. Are you addicted to anything?

Not that I know of, but I sure could use a coke zero right about now. I think that is more of a caffeine thing than anything else though.

4. How many times have you been in love?

I’d say four, three at least.

5. What is your position on politics?

Keep in mind that Canadian politics are pretty different than US politics. I have voted Liberal so far in every election, which is very centre as far as policies go, I was tempted to vote NDP last federal election though, they are left of centre. If I was American I would be voting for Obama.

6. Are you religious?

Not particularly. Ever seen Dogma, the Kevin Smith movie? That sums up a lot of my opinions on religion. Lots of people have great ideas about faith, then they go and ruin them by acting on them. I do believe in God, but not necessarily in the Western definition of him.

7. Would you prefer backpacking or a luxury hotel?

Could I backpack to luxury hotels? I prefer excitement and adventure, but not sleeping outdoors.

8. Do you have/want pets?

I now have one kitty, Talia.

9. Are you a sports fan?

Yes, I am a hockey fan, mainly the Montreal Canadiens. I also like watching bits and pieces of other sports or the Olympics. I love to play sports too, again mainly hockey.

10. How often do you brush your teeth?

At least twice a day

11. Do you have tattoos and/or piercings?

I have one tattoo. You can see it here.

12. What’s your favourite clothing brand?

Old Navy, I like a lot of their stuff and it is cheap! Win, Win.

13. Should a man open doors for a woman?

I think yes, but not that he should dash to the door just to be the one to open it, if men opened all the doors all the time women would forget how and lose the skill and then be trapped in any room without a man to open the door. By letting women do some of the door opening, we as men, are saving them from a tragic evolutionary problem.

14. Which season is your favourite?

Fall is my favourite by far. It’s beautiful here in the fall, and it’s nice and cool, I can run and bike and play hockey and go outside without sweating or freezing to death.

15. Would you rather eat less or workout more?

Neither, I don’t think I would survive either of those options right now! I like working out lots though.

16. What’s your idea of romance?

Whatever my wife thinks it is :)

17. How often do you do things that are outside of your comfort zone?

Fairly often I would say, I’m forever doing new things like entering races or stuff at daycare and stuff.

18. Christmas or Halloween?

Christmas, it has always been my favourite. I like the food, I like family and I like giving and getting things!

19. Would you rather live in the country or the city?

Small town. I’m not a great city person, and living way out in the country is too much of a pain to be able to get anything. We just moved to Bridgenorth and that is pretty much my ideal.

20. Share your life philosophy.

I don’t really know if I have one philosophy that looks after my entire life, but I’d say it really would be as simple as ‘Treat people the way you’d like to be treated’ I know that there are times when I have faltered from that, but that makes me human I guess. No one is perfect all the time, I just try my best.

  1. love #13. I liked your FMM. Mine is up at

  2. I think your tattoo is awesome. It's not something that was done on a whim and it means a lot to you. I also made sure to think about where I got all of mine and what they may look like when I'm old & wrinkly. So they're all able to be covered up if I choose. :)

It's nice to get a guy's view on #13. Funny!! We sure don't want to be stuck wandering around trapped in a room forever!

Stopping in from FMM - hi!

    Go Red Wings!
